Hunt some bounty with SkyPoker
Published by Matt Greene on March 29, 2009
Sky Poker have introduced a new, televised, bounty hunter tournament. A bounty hunter tournament is played where each player wins cash based on their finishing position and cash for players that they knock out of the tournament.
In Sky Poker’s tournaments the prize pool is split equally between the cash prize and bounties offered on other players heads in that game. Each player starts the game with an equal bounty on their heads, as they knock other players out they win 75% of that players bounty and the other 25% is added to the bounty on the winners head. You collect your prizes either at the point of knockout or, if you finish in the money, at the end of the tournament. Number 1 also collects their own bounty as a cash prize.
The massive catch is that while you swell your coffers knocking out other competitors you make your own bounty bigger, making you a much more attractive target and therefore a sought after prize.
A direct buy in will set you back £55, a semi- final buy in will cost £11 and you can buy into the satellites for£2.40. The satellites take place at 12pm, 3pm, 5pm, 6pm and 7pm each day. The satellite semi-finals take place at 9.45pm each day. The final takes place on the final Friday of the month.
This is a great way to hone your skills and introduce a new level of tactics to your poker game, overall this is an absolute thrill and, unsurprisingly, hugely addictive.
