RYDER CUP HISTORY AND INFORMATION
The Ryder Cup is a joint event between teams from the US and Europe and is jointly administered by the PGA of America and the PGA European Tour. It is held every two years and the location alternates between courses in the US and Europe.
The European Team is selected from two qualifying sections, The European Tour List and The Official World Golf Rankings points list.
The way the US Team is picked was changed for 2008. Selection is now based on a series of factors based on prize money earned in a selection of championships on the year of selection.
