This bottom of the table clash between Sunderland and Hull City could result in near safety for Hull or real problems for Sunderland. It is, in short, a must win for both sides.

SUNDERLAND v HULL PREVIEW : KICK-OFF: Apr 18th 15:00 GMT

With Kieran Richardson and Steed Malbranque back in contention, Sunderland’s starting line-up is likely to have more attacking potency than in recent matches.

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said of away side Hull, who are without striker Daniel Cousin and winger Bernard Mendy.

Hull captain Ian Ashbee is also out through suspension, but veteran George Boateng will replace him in midfield.

SUNDERLAND vs HULL BETTING TIPS

Both clubs are in poor form, mustering only one win between them in their last twelve matches (Hull 1-0 away at Fulham) and all the indications point to a draw in this one.

However, Sunderland do have the players to run Hull City ragged. The likes of Malbranque, Cisse and Kenwyne Jones have more than enough quality to win this. It’s just a matter of the players being up for it.

And with Sunderland hovering two points away from the drop zone, this is the match for them to prove it. Sunderland should win this one.

ASTON VILLA v WEST HAM UTD PREVIEW : Sat Apr 18th 15:00 GMT

With Agbonlahor sidelined and Sidwell, Cueller and Bouma all a couple of weeks away from full fitness, Martin O’Neill has selection dilemmas.

A fit again Emile Heskey could be partnered by youngster Nathan Delfouneso in attack, with John Carew dropping to the bench.

Stoke City welcome Alan Shearer’s Newcastle United in what is a critical match for both teams.

Should Tony Pulis’ Stoke City win, they can be almost sure of another year in the Premier League. A defeat for Newcastle United, however, is almost unthinkable, particularly if results go against them elsewhere.

On paper, with Michael Owen and Obafemi Martins starting, Newcastle are the stronger side.

However, Stoke City’s home form is impressive, with 8 wins and 4 draws, while Newcastle have only won twice away from home.

Defensively, too, Alan Shearer’s side are fragile and Stoke have the firepower to cause them all sorts of problems.

Stoke are a best priced 6/4 at Coral Eurobet, which looks a good price – click to bet now.

Chelsea will be missing Jose Bosingwa against a Bolton Wanderers side who have no new injury concerns.

Bolton boss Gary Megson is set to name an unchanged side, but this is more down to the size of the Bolton squad than any real conviction that Wanderers can win this match.

They will, of course, be combative, but Chelsea have combative players of their own in Michael Essien and Obi Mikel and are 2/7 win with Victor Chandler – click to bet.

Chelsea have won four of their last six and have beaten Bolton 5 times in their last nine meetings.

At 14/1 with Bet365, only the most optimistic of Bolton fans will be backing their team, although 9/2 on the draw – also at Bet365 - could tempt some, as Bolton have drawn their last two meetings at the Bridge.

Let’s take a quick look at the latest matches, betting odds and tips for this weekend’s Premier League football.

Portsmouth vs Everton : Sat Mar 21, 12:45 GMT

With Cahill back and Jo, Saha and Fellaini all on form, it’s hard to see anything other than an away win for Everton here.

CHECK THE LATEST ODDS AT BET365 – NEW CUSTOMERS GET £200 in FREE BETS

Blackburn v West Ham : Sat Mar 21, 15:00 GMT

Zola’s Hammers are missing Carlton Cole and Matthew Upson, which will render them a little toothless in attack and vulnerable to the pace and power of Jason Roberts and Benni McCarthy.

I can see Blackburn winning this 1-0.

Best Odds : 7/1 at Ladbrokes.com – Click To bet

Fulham vs Manchester United : Sat Mar 21, 15:00 GMT

Hard to see anything other than a Manchester United win, even considering Fulham’s good home form this season. Get this at 4/9 pretty much everywhere, including the marvellous Bet365.

Stoke v Middlesbrough : Sat Mar 21, 15:00 GMT

Middlesbrough have no firepower and no fight, so I fully expect Stoke to roll over them today.

With James Beattie on form, it’s worth having a side bet on the former England man to score anytime. Best odds on Beattie to score anytime is 13/8 at Paddy Power – click to bet.

Tottenham vs Chelsea : Sat Mar 21, 15:00 GMT

Tottenham’s record against the big four this term is surprising good. They haven’t lost a game and are in something of a run of form. The thing is : Hiddink’s Chelsea are too.

These are usually tightly contested matches at White Hart Lane so a draw looks the best bet.

This is a best priced 5/2 at Bet365 – Click To Bet Now.

West Brom vs Bolton : Sat Mar 21, 15:00 GMT

Let’s face it – West Brom are the worse team in the division and insist on playing football the right way. Bolton, on the other hand, lump it up to Davies and Elmander and win the occasionally match.

West Brom will be bullied out of this, so away win for Bolton Wanderers – available at 11/5 at Ladbrokes and elsewhere.

Newcastle Utd v Arsenal : Sat Mar 21st 17:30 GMT

Even with Michael Owen fit again and Mark Viduka also back in contention, it’s hard to see any other result than Arsenal winning this.

PREMIERSHIP FOOTBALL RELEGATION BETTING TIPS AND ODDS

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR RELEGATION ODDS :

Spurs are one of those teams that people think can’t go down. Well, they can – they’ve got Aston Villa, Chelsea, Everton, Manchester City away and Liverpool away as part of their run-in.

The odds for Tottenham to get relegated are currently a best price 20.0 (19/1) at Unibet com .

We think : Staying Up. Tottenham’s record against the top four this season is good and their other games should give them enough points to stay in the Premier League.

SUNDERLAND AND BLACKBURN ROVERS RELEGATION ODDS

As you can tell by me lumping the team currently in 13th together with a team in the relegation zone, I don’t think either of these sides is likely to be relegated from the Premiership.

Sunderland have all round solidity and plenty of teams in and around them to pick up points.

Blackburn Rovers, under Sam Allardyce, have regained their tenacity and they still have the best strike force of any team in the bottom half. McCarthy, Roberts and Santa Cruz will get them out of trouble.

HULL CITY :

Hull amassed a lot of points very quickly at the start of the season, but right now, their form is, frankly, shocking.

You can find Bet365 offering odds of 11-4 on their relegation and their run-in includes Liverpool, Aston Villa, Manchester United, Stoke and Bolton, but – in my opinion – there are worse teams in the division and I think they’re staying up as are…

STOKE CITY

Pre-season Tony Pulis’ Stoke were one of the favourites for the drop. And some bookies still have them as one of the favourites to go down even now. Right now, they are 4/5 to get relegated at Victor Chandler.

But, Stoke at home are a formidable proposition and with James Beattie scoring the goals, I just don’t see it.

They’ve got Middlesbrough, Newcastle, Blackburn, West Ham and Wigan all to come to the Britannia and I just can’t see them losing too many of those.

Stoke will stay up.

AND THAT LEAVES…

Portsmouth, Newcastle, Middlesbrough and West Brom.

For West Brom, the race is, frankly, run. They don’t score goals and can’t win football matches. Invest some money on them at to be relegated at 1/10 with Coral Eurobet.

Middlesbrough :

Currently at a best price 137/100 at Eurobet to go down, Boro have no goalscorers and a lightweight midfield. They also have Arsenal, Manchester United, Newcastle, Aston Villa and West Ham as their last five matches.

They’re not going to make it so get in now.

Portsmouth and Newcastle :

One of these two is going to go. While Newcastle United have by far the better players – Martins, Owen, Nicky Butt, etc – they have still to face four out of the top five.

On the other hand, Pompey have sold all their real quality outfield players, excepting Niko Kranjcar, but have fractionally easier matches to come.

Newcastle United are currently 13/8 at Bet365 to get relegated, but the best bet is Portsmouth to go down at 11/4 with William Hill.
