Basically the aim of the game is to beat the dealer’s total without your card total equaling more than 21. The winner is whoever finishes closest to or on 21 when the card values are added up.

The card’s worth is:
King is worth 10
Queen is worth 10
Jack is worth 10
All the number cards are worth their equivalent (i.e. 6 is worth 6) and Aces are worth 1 or 11 (the player can decide)

The dealer begins the game by shuffling the decks of cards together and placing them in ‘the Shoe’. Players must then place their bets and then get dealt two cards, both face up. The dealer then deals their own 2 cards, one card face up and one face down. At this point each player has a choice, stay or get another card from the dealer in an effort to get closer to 21 without going over. Once all players have decided to stay or have gone bust the dealer turns over the face down card.

If the value of the dealers’ cards is 17 or higher the dealer must stay. If the value of the dealers’ cards are 16 or lower the dealer must draw another card. In the event of a tie between a player and the dealer it’s called a push and then another game is dealt.
